The Lemosho route is among preferred routes of Kilimanjaro National Park due to its beautiful scenery and a high summit success rate. The Lemosho route starts off from the west, beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the lush rainforest to Shira Plateau. You should not worry about your gear. Our mountain crew of hardworking porters, cook and guides will always make sure you are well taken care of. Our mountain porters will carry most of your stuff and erect tents each next camping ground so your arrival to the camp will be just enjoying the view and relax. We recommend a minimum of 7 days to attempt this route, but 8 days is also preferable for better acclimatization and summit success if you have a little more time. The Lemosho route joins the Machame route at Shira 2 Camp and then follows the same route through the southern circuit and descending at Mweka Gate. This option of 7 days Kilimanjaro trek by Lemosho will give you chances of taking as many pictures as you can without forgetting short videos with plenty of local stories as well as flora and founa knowledge from our highly trained, understanding, and friendly mountain guides.
Although climbing Mount Kilimanjaro by Lemosho route takes 7 and above days, We always remind our clients that climbing this mount can be hard if, among other things, you do not follow instructions or advice from our mountain guides. We understand that you have been doing a lot of training for this lifetime adventures and you are well prepared for it but you should always be mindful also, that Lemosho route can physically be hard and you should never underestimate a pase right from the first day of your climbing. You will hear the word “pole, pole” meaning “slowly, slowly or slow down” from our guides, and we encourage you never to be offended. For the first few days, this word may sound unnecessary but as time goes, your mind will start respecting “how kindly the word is to you”. You do not want to have a terrible experience just by climbing fast to reach the peak and end at lower altitudes, while Lemosho route options have nice promises but try to set your move tone which will help you reach UHURU peak, and end your experience with the most exciting memories forever.
Porters always go faster than clients so it is important to set apart things that you will mostly need in the day. Since porters carry almost everything including the cooking stuff and camping gears, they must be ahead of you everyday.
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Honey Badger Lodge/Ameg lodge in Moshi/ Vijiji Center in Arusha, you will meet your guide who will brief you on your upcoming trek and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear.
